James Aaron Green (he/him/his) is a postdoctoral researcher (ÖAW APART-GSK) at the Department of English and American Studies, University of Vienna. His current project (until 2024), is ‘Living Forever: Fictions of Radical Life Extension, 1878–1918’.
James is a literary historian of age and aging in the mid-to-late C19th and early-C20th centuries. His current work is on speculative fictions about radical life extension. He holds other interests in the gothic, sensation fiction, and game studies.
His work is published in Gothic Studies, the Journal of Victorian Culture, Wilkie Collins in Context (Cambridge UP) and Gothic Dreams and Nightmares (Manchester UP), among other places. His first academic monograph, Sensation Fiction and Modernity, is forthcoming with Palgrave Macmillan; a second, based on his current project, is due with Bloomsbury Academic.
